Two Trees Make a Forest: A Review

I started Two Trees Make a Forest while recovering from pneumonia, and now during the Coronavirus-Battening-Of-The-Hatches, so it’s been a fantastic escape to outdoorsy Taiwan, and taught me a lot about its history, and geography. Exotic trees flourish in nearly every chapter as author Jessica Lee explores the Taiwan of her family history, but it was the line “a desire for exertion and cold breath in my lungs, for alpine scents” that made this newly-indoorsy reader tear up.
